Awareness Raising Exhibition

"Where Would You Hide?" is a travelling exhibition which challenges the public to consider the toilet taboo afresh.

The exhibition shows 35 life-size, stand-up illustrations of people defecating in
public, as they try to hide behind everyday objects such as flower pots, bags or umbrellas in order to maintain their dignity. The 35 brightly coloured display are difficult to miss. The question "where would you hide?" encourages passers-by to come closer and find out why the figures are hiding. And only when you get close up do you get an idea of the serious nature of the topic: 2.5 billion people in the world live without access to adequate sanitation.

The artstic combination of photos and silhouetted figures encourages the interest of passers by, and an information stand manned by sanitation experts provides an additional opportunity for the public to access information on the topic, as well as to provide their own suggestions.

The campaign was designed by the "mediaroom network" and "buntesamt für gestaltung". The exhibition was made possible with the generous support of CWS, a hygiene brand of HTS.
