The results are in! The My School Loo hygeine education programme has had its first larg-scale test run in the Philippines.
The results of the first intermediate evaluation demonstrate that the pupils enjoyed using the materials and also made clear learning progress. Despite the materials being tested across a range of age-groups we did not identify any problems with regard to understanding or cultural barriers.
At this point we would like to thank Robert Gensch and the Xavier University who made this test run possible.
“My School Loo” is a set of educational tools that have been designed with a dual focus: to build a better awareness of sanitation and hygiene in developing countries; and also to provide a means by which children can take that learning and pass it on to their communities and importantly to local decision-makers.
The kids from Bongongon Elementary School were the first to get the opportunity to try these fun activities out, and by the looks of it they certainly had a great time (and also learnt lots along the way)!
